Givenchy and Disney celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company with an exclusive capsule collection.
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit stars in a collaboration and new animated short designed to celebrate the Lunar New Year and Disney’s 100th anniversary. Givenchy and Disney are pleased to present a brand new capsule collection featuring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, to celebrate Lunar New Year 2023 and Disney’s 100th anniversary.
As The Walt Disney Company celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2023, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit reappears at the dawn of theyear of the rabbit. For the first time in nearly 95 years, Oswald stars in an all-new short from Animation Studios waltz disney : “Oswald the lucky rabbit”.
The Artistic Director of Givenchy, Matthew M. Williams, draws his inspiration from the four corners of the world, from New York to Paris, via Los Angeles, Shanghai, Tokyo. For this collaboration, the creator worked with Disney to imagine a “one-of-a-kind world tour”, which combines the playful and energetic spirit ofOswald to the aesthetics of Givenchy, in a capsule collection that transcribes this spirit of adventure.
Among the essentials for women is a blue varsity jacket with white sleeves with Givenchy and Paris lettering showing Oswald the lucky rabbit offering a flower to his sweetheart, Ortensia. In a bright red oversized shirt and sports ensemble with shorts, Oswald appears on a singing horse. The two characters return like graffiti, through multicolored patterns on jeans and jackets.
Multi-coloured t-shirts convey messages of love and recount the magic of a visit to Paris, while hoodies, tank tops and sweatpants incorporate the stylized heart 4G emblem and the Magic Kingdom, in off-white.
For men, a red teddy shows Oswald riding a wild horse to Los Angeles, while we find the character surrounded by bandana patterns on a blue shirt. On the jeans, we find Oswald accompanied by a lucky red horseshoe. GIVENCHY lettering t-shirts display key words and locations, such as “Lucky” and “New York City”. On sweatshirts and tracksuits, we find him ready to fight.
A wide range of accessories completes the collection and includes Givenchy x Oswald sneakers, card holders, tote bags, small shoulder bags, phone or earphone cases, as well as caps.
The Oswald Disney X Givenchy capsule collection will be available from December 16 in China, Singapore and at the Tokyo Ikebukuro pop-up store, as well as the Miami Aventura pop-up store on December 19. It will be available in the rest of the world on December 30 in stores and on givenchy.com.
