From January 11 to March 19, 2023, the Funambule theater in Montmartre invites you to attend this pretty Chinese tale with your family, accessible for toddlers from 3 to 6 years old.
“Hei Mai Li and his silver scissors“, it’s a Chinese tale that takes you, young and old, to a small village in China, for a 35-minute show. It is presented by the Compagnie du camel at the theater the tightrope walker from Montmartre, from January 11 to March 19, 2023.
In the heart of a chinese village, located at the foot of a mountain, Heï Maï Li fascinates the children of the surroundings. With her silver scissors, she folds, cuts, decorates… any sheet of paper that comes to hand. When she unfolds them, the leaves turn into frogs, dragonflies, flowers… and come to life in the designer’s hands. One day, his fame will unfortunately reach the ears of the cruel Chinese emperor…
The Camel Company adapts this lovely Chinese tale in shadow and paper theater, like an ode and a tribute to childhood, where we marvel at everything. Theater the tightrope walker de Montmartre is located in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, it offers a program focused entirely on the theater, with many performances created for the young audience. Located in the Jules Joffrin district, it is a cultural place on a human scale with its 120 places where it is good to come and spend some time with the family.
