“The 2022 K-Food Festival” wowed visitors in Paris
PARIS, July 10 (Yonhap) — “La Fête de la K-Food,” a festival of traditional Korean dishes, has drawn huge numbers of visitors to the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, where the event has been held for two days.
The fourth edition of this festival was organized by the French branch of the Society for the marketing of agricultural and fishing products (aT) as part of the promotion of Korean food exports and the presentation of recipes Korean dishes.
Visitors were able to taste dishes like “tteokbokki”, rice noodle sticks with hot sauce, “ramens”, Korean instant noodles and “makgeolli”, Korean rice liquor.
A trade fair was also organized to promote consultations between South Korean and European companies.
A taekwondo and K-pop dance performance and a Korean cooking workshop were also given.
On the last day of the festival, Eric Trochon, chef of a one-star restaurant in the Michelin guide, and Jean-Yves Ruaux, a former professor at Busan National University, organized a debate on Korean cuisine.
The number of pre-sold tickets for the two days of the festival, from Friday to Saturday, exceeded 4,000. Tickets were also sold on site.
Proceeds from ticket sales will be entirely donated to Food Banks in France, according to the organizer.
