These 3 croque-monsieur recipes that we will love to eat this winter


This is the recipe for winter, an easy-to-prepare, inexpensive and gourmet grilled sandwich that warms and comforts. Prepare the sandwich bread, everyone has their seasonal croque-monsieur recipe! Mountain, in sauce or veggie, every day its croque for a cocooning winter.

The ultra-cheese croque-monsieur

The season is for mountain cheeses! Simply replace the grated Emmental with winter cheese slices : tomme, Saint-Nectaire, reblochon, beaufort… and our favourite, the croque-raclette, available in cooked ham or Grisons meat version!

The recipe for 4

  • Mix 2 tbsp. tablespoons soft butter with 1 tbsp. mustard. Spread 4 slices of bread.

  • deposit 4 slices of ham then thin strips 1 red onion peeled and minced.

  • Cover each with 4 slices of raclette cheese.

  • close with 4 slices of bread.

  • Bake for 10 minutes at 180°C.

Béchamel croque monsieur

Another seasonal recipe that feels good, the croque monsieur with sauce puts everything on the fondant with its creamy béchamel. If you have time, prepare it at home, why not in the microwave! Otherwise, you will find it in bricks. Do not hesitate to change cheese or ham according to your tastes.

The recipe for 4

  • Butter 4 slices of bread and cover them with a layer of Bechamel.

  • Cover with grated cheese, of 4 slices of hamanother layer of béchamel and grated Gruyère cheese.

  • close with 4 slices of bread buttered, place in a dish then cover with the rest of the béchamel and cheese.

  • Bake for 15 minutes at 180°C.

Butternut croque monsieur

Squash is the star of winter, and it’s perfect for a vegetarian croque monsieur deliciously melting. The secret ? Prepare your slices of roasted squash in advance so all you have to do is assemble!

The recipe for 4

  • Peel and deseed 1 butternut squash, cut the flesh into long slices 0.5 cm thick. Place them on a plate, drizzle with oil, herbs, salt and pepper. Bake for 20 minutes at 200°C.

  • Spread 4 slices of bread with 2 tbsp. pesto (or failing that, mustard butter).

  • Cover with slices of roasted butternut and grated cheddar.

  • close with 4 slices of bread spread and bake for 10 minutes at 180°C.
